Google Earth Data Explorer Tool

http://geosciencebc.tnrg.ca/

In partnership with Geoscience B.C., Timberline Natural Resource Group and Golder Associates developed a Google Earth-based Query tool for the exploration of geochemical data recently reanalysed by Geoscience B.C.

Users gain a new perspective on regional geochemistry through the ability to directly query the data.  Instead of seeing every point and having to discern which are the points of interest, users can input specific criteria into a web form; the selected points which match the criteria are delivered directly to Google Earth.

Users can add their own data to allow for direct visual comparisons of the data to Google Earth along with the geochemical data and expand their abilities to research for meaningful patterns.

Data Explorer Highlights - You can:

  • Visualize Geoscience BC data inside Google Earth;
  • Search the data set as you would a database;
  • Return only the samples in which you are interested;
  • Use indicator elements to focus on specific deposit types;
  • Investigate up to five indicator elements in one query;
  • Get a detailed breakdown of each sample point, colour-coded according to percentile ranking;
  • Use spatial queries;
  • Add other geoscience data sets; and
  • Compare the outputs with proprietary data sets.
