Biometrics

Biometrics – the statistical analysis of biological observations and phenomena – is an important part of the resource manager’s toolkit. For example, growth and yield models provide forest managers with information they can use from stand level silviculture to forest estate planning. Habitat models help wildlife managers understand habitat and population characteristics. Statistical analyses of reclamation data help reclamation biologists understand what has worked well to achieve objectives.

The Timberline biometrics group specializes in the research, development and application of quantitative methods to solve problems, develop programs and clearly communicate results to our clients. We have provided high quality services to the forest industry since 1985 and more recently to other industrial clients.

Our team includes in-house professionals with statistical and biological expertise, and we work closely with other allied professionals to provide a complete range of forest research and analysis services.  Timberline supplies company field crews to collect data, and we often hire subcontractors from the communities within or adjacent to project areas to assist us.

We have successfully completed hundreds of projects for industrial and government clients, from small custom research projects to the design, delivery, and management of multi-year, multi-million dollar programs.
